Watch the video tutorial below on how to setup groups in your Contacts, and then use those groups and permissions for private events.
Scenario: You are having a wedding and you are inviting 100 people to that wedding. Everyone is invited to the ceremony and reception, but only 25 of your closest friends and family are invited to the Rehearsal Dinner and only 50 people are invited to the Sunday Brunch.
Can you set this up and take personalized RSVPs for all of these events on a Bliss & Bone wedding website? YES!
To do so, you need a Premium subscripiton. Then, follow the steps below to set it all up.
Once your guest list has been uploaded, create groups that correspond to your events. So, you may have a “Welcome Party” group, or a “Rehearsal Dinner” group. Then, tag your guests with the groups (events) that they are invited to.
At the top of each page and each section of your wedding website there is a question that says “Who can see this page?” The default option is for “everyone” (to see), so if that page or section has general information for everyone to see, leave it as “everyone”.
However, if the information or event (on your RSVP page) is private, then tag accordingly. So, if you have a page that should only be seen by the guests invited to the Rehearsal Dinner, and you set your permissions, then when your guests login to the site ONLY the guests with the Rehearsal Dinner group (in your Contacts) will be able to see that page (or section).
Please note that permissions will not work if you are not restricting access to your Contacts. If your guests do not log into your website, our system can’t know who is logging on. And, the system needs to know who logs into your site so we can match their name to your Contacts and show them the correct information.
We always recommend logging into your site as if you were one of your guests. So, load your site and login using one of your guest’s names or emails, and you will see exactly what they will see. It’s a perfect way to check that everything is working the way you want it to.
Please test it on this sample website! Log into this site as "John Smith", and then navigate to the RSVP form. This is how Premium RSVPs can work when Restricting Access to your Contacts. You'll notice the RSVP form auto-fills with all the guests in John Smith's household, and John needs to RSVP for each person in his family. Note, also, that anyone in John's family can log into the website and they will see the same RSVP form.

If you choose restrict access to your Contacts, only guests in your Contacts will be able to view your website.
